Deal Sealed!

I stretched a bit and turned to see the time with bleary eyes. ‘Well, there are still five minutes for the alarm to go off,’ I said, drowsing off.  ‘Tring…Tring,’ “Ughh! I need to change the tone of this,” I thought as I rubbed my eyes. Though I had tried that before, this was the only annoying tone that woke me up no matter what. I slapped the alarm's off button and... Wait, what is this? I reached out to pick up the golden, shining card on the bedside table. Did I bring this home yesterday? I don’t remember this at all.  “Your heart’s deepest wish, the stars will bestow, To realms of your dreams, the golden path will show. Yet the price is steep, a truth you must confide. Leave behind what you cherish most to step inside.” What kind of joke is this? I’m sure this would be a discount coupon in newspapers, but I couldn’t find anything written apart from that cryptic message anywhere. I huffed and left it there. I had to go for my job interview today, and I couldn’t let anythi...

PAST MADE PERFECT??

Image
Would you like to revisit your past? If yes, why? To correct your mistakes? To relive your good moments? If you would have never made those mistakes, you wouldn't be at the place you're now, you wouldn't have realized your mistakes and maybe made them somewhere else in future. Mistakes and failures indicate that you're a human and that you're growing and learning. It's okay, All of us learn from our mistakes. It may seem like due to your mistake, something really bad has happened but trust me, it won't seem so big after you grow up, you may even laugh and joke about it. Now what's the problem with reliving our good moments of the past? Well, let me tell you a little incident from my life. I lived in Mumbai from grade 3 till grade 7th that is 5 years from the time where you value your friends!  So when in 8th grade I shifted to Delhi, I always used to say and wish that only if I could go back to Mumbai all of my problems would be sol...

HAPPY ENDINGS ARE OVERRATED?

Hey there! How are you guys doing? Hope you are safe at home. In my 17 years of existence , I have read a lot of novels and watched some movies and I have noticed that in almost all of the movies or novels, whatever genre it is-thriller,crime,romance,action etc.,the protagonist usually gets a 'happy ending'. (yeah! I have already talked about this a ton of times, and also put up stories on my Instagram about it) But life is not about happy endings, its about highs and lows, ups an downs, its about the challenges we face and how we overcome our fears, how we deal with stress and sadness of losing someone accepting that and then becoming happy again. In real life, your near and dear ones do die and love stories do come to an end. 'THE REALIZATION THAT WE CAN BE HAPPY WITHOUT HAVING EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE WE WISH FOR IS HAPPINESS' Though nowadays a lot of movies like the fault in our stars, five feet apart and midnight sun have come up which promote this idea (thoug...

ANXIETY OR INSECURITY!?

I don't know what this is? Anxiety or  Insecurity ??? But it's there, it has always been there, even when I smile and am laughing, it's there, sitting in the corner of my mind ridiculing me! Telling me stuff I don't  really wanna hear. But the worst part, I cant really just pick it up and kick it out of my system. Why!? Maybe because , its all a part of me!! And that's the worst part, cause maybe you can leave people ,maybe kick a person out of your life. But you can't really kick a part of yourself out! right!? In our schools, we are taught to respect others, be kind to others, forgive others and that sharing(things) is caring. But have we ever been taught, to treat our own selves with dignity??To be kind and forgiving of our own mistakes? To share our thoughts and feelings? To love ourselves? So what we are taught, is about the past and present of the world we are in. But it leaves the most important aspect of treating our own selves well. Very recentl...

LIFE AS AN ADVENTURE

‘TRAVEL’, what comes to your mind when you hear the word?   Most of you would think of a really grand 5 star resort with luxuries and then going to all the touristy spots in a really good car, click some really cool instagram worthy pictures and then be back to your mundane life. Have you ever thought of travelling as an adventurer to venture out into the unknown and unseen places like the streets of the city, to go into the random restaurants and try out the dishes whose name hasn’t even been heard of, to go to a forest and camp there or be in an open desert and camp at nights and keep moving till the sun sets on a camel with no network or any kind of lavish things around you to keep you entertained. Ever thought of going to the amazon jungle and staying with the tribes to learn their culture, food habits, their lifestyle and discovering all the unknown beauties of nature around you like the huge caves or the beautiful waterfalls or going to a barren island which is of...

PERFECT PERSON OF THE SOCIETY

I am a myriad of people's thoughts. While growing up I would always think " How good would it be to be a grown up,to do whatever you want to do " but I have now reached a stage where I know that being big is not easy, you have to stand up to the expectations of your parents, your relatives and most of all your society and that is a stage where you don't even know what you want to do anymore neither are you aware of who you want to become, you end up becoming or trying to become an image of who the society thinks you are . You actually try to stand up to the expectations of the society and in the process of becoming it you forget who you really are . At the age of 15 you are expected to make a 'perfect decision' for your life and if by any chance you are not able to you are referred to as a 'failure' and that is what you stay your whole life that tag never leaves you. I wanted to be that  perfect girl but I actually realized that that's no...
